Where to Find Custom Views
You can find Custom Views in the following views:
How Custom Views Work
With Custom Views, you can save several configurations of the Project List, Board, Roadmap and Team Planner. This allows you to quickly switch between different configurations to see the information you need.
If your user group has the required right, you can also share Custom Views with other users or user groups.
How to Add Custom Views
To add a new Custom View, click the drop-down menu of the Custom View field and select Add New Custom View.
Enter a name and click Add. If you are able to share the view, you can enter which users or user groups can access the view.
Next, configure your view (e.g., the columns in the Project List) and click Save Configuration.
How to Edit and Share Custom Views
To edit the name of a Custom View and specifiy who to share it with, click the three dots next to the view’s name and select Edit. Enter the users or user groups and click Apply. These users have access to this view and, depending on their user rights, can edit the view.
When you have edited the configuration of a view, click the the drop-down menu of the Save Configuration button to select one of the following options:
- Save the configuration under its current name
- Save the configuration with a new name
- Discard changes to the configuration
Editing of Shared Views
If you edit a shared view and save it under its current name, the configuration will be changed for all users with access to the view.
How to Select Custom Views
Click the Custom View drop-down menu and select a view. Shared views display a group icon.
The selected Custom View displays the configuration that was saved for that Custom View.
How to Delete Custom Views
To delete a Custom View, click the three dots next to the name and select Delete.
What Will and What Won't Be Saved
The configuration options that can be saved in a custom view are described in each Meisterplan view article:
In all Meisterplan views, the following settings cannot be saved when configuring a Custom View:
- Header: Date Range, Portfolio and Scenario
- Toolbar: Search results
- Information Panel: Whether the panel is extended or not and the option (e.g., Change Log) selected.
- Selection of a specific project
- The scroll position
- Whether Role or Resource in the Team Planner is extended
- Whether Grouped by in the Roadmap is extended
Custom Views and Rights
Every user can at least add their own Custom Views and read views shared with them. If you share your view with a user or user group, they can at least read it and, depending on the user right, also edit it.
Find more information about the Manage Custom Views right in the Manage User Groups article.
