Notifications Within Meisterplan
In the black header bar, click on the bell icon on the right to open a list with your notifications:
A blue dot shows that there are new notifications that you haven't seen yet. The number in the dot shows how many new notifications there are. If there are 9 or more notifications, the count is no longer incremented.
You cannot deactivate these notifications. If your organization doesn't use comments, there won't be any notifications in Meisterplan.
The dropdown list displays the last 200 notifications or the notifications of the last 90 days, whichever applies first.
Which Notifications are Available?
You will only receive notifications for comments made by other users unless you mention yourself in a comment.
Project Comments
You receive a notification when:
- You were mentioned in a project comment.
- A project comment has been added to a project on which you are assigned as project manager or another Resource type.
When you click an entry, you will be redirected to the Project Details of the project that has been commented on.
Allocation Comments
You receive a notification when:
- You were mentioned in an allocation comment
- An allocation comment has been added to a project on which you are the project manager or another Resource type.
- An allocation comment has been added to a role or resource on which you are the resource manager.
When you click an entry, you will be redirect to the Team Planner; the role or resource and the relevant project will be open automatically.
Email Notifications
In your user profile, activate the option for receiving email notifications. This helps you to quickly learn about open questions or new information.
Prerequisite: Verified Email Address
To be able to receive notifications by email, you need to verify your email address. Every user can find an option to send the verification link below the header bar and in their user profile. Once you have clicked the link in the verification email, the option in the header and in your user profile will be removed.
Exception: Users that have been invited to Meisterplan by email will automatically verify their email address by clicking the Set Password link in the invitation email.
If there is no text below the header bar and in your user profile, your email address has already been verified and you can receive notifications by email.
If the email was sent to the wrong address, you can update the email address under Manage > Users.
Verification and Single Sign-On
You still need to verify your email address when logging in to Meisterplan using Single Sign-On.
Which Notifications Are Available?
You will only receive email notifications for project changes and comments made by other users unless you mention yourself in a comment.
Project and Allocation Comments
Once you have activated the option to receive email notifications for Comments in your user profile, you will be notified whenever:
- you have been mentioned in a project or allocation comment
- or when a project or allocation comment was added to a project on which you are assigned as project manager or another Resource type
- an allocation comment was added to a role or resource for which you are the resource manager
You will receive an email for each comment that includes a link to Meisterplan. The link in email notifications for project comments will forward you to the Project Details of the respective project.
In notifications for allocation comments, you can choose whether you want to open the Portfolio Designer or the Team Planner. When you follow these links, the respective role or resource and project are pre-selected. The scenario that contains the changes is also automatically opened, even if it is different from the last scenario opened.
To view the comment, open the project or allocation comments in the Information Panel.
Project Change Overview for Project Managers and Other Project Stakeholders
Once you have activated the option to receive email notifications of the Project Change Overview for Project Managers in your user profile, you will get regular email summaries about changes to projects you are assigned to as project manager or another Resource type.
For each project change, the email contains a link to the Project Details of the respective project. When you follow this link, the scenario that contains the changes is also automatically opened, even if it is different from the last scenario opened.
For a detailed list of all project changes, open the Project Change Log in the Information Panel.
Allocation Change Overview for Resource Managers
Once you have activated the option to receive email notifications of the Allocation Change Overview for Resource Managers in your user profile, you will get regular email summaries about changes made to the allocations of roles and resources for which you are the resource manager.
For each allocation change, the email contains a link to the Team Planner. When you follow this link, the respective role or resource and project are pre-selected. The scenario that contains the changes is also automatically opened, even if it is different from the last scenario opened.
For a detailed list of all allocation changes, open the Allocation Change Log in the Information Panel.
Microsoft Teams Notifications
With the Meisterplan App for Microsoft Teams, you can receive notifications right in your own Teams chat. You can learn more about the Meisterplan App in the article Meisterplan Application in Microsoft Teams.
Which Notifications are Available?
You will only receive notifications for project changes and comments made by other users unless you mention yourself in a comment.
Project Comments
You receive a Teams notification when:
- You were mentioned in a project comment.
- A project comment has been added to a project on which you are assigned as project manager or another Resource type.
When you click Open Project, you will be redirected to the Project Details of the project that has been commented on.
Allocation Comments
You receive a Teams notification when:
- You were mentioned in an allocation comment
- An allocation comment has been added to a project on which you are the project manager or another Resource type.
- An allocation comment has been added to a role or resource on which you are the resource manager.
When you click Open Team Planner, you will be redirect to the Team Planner; the role or resource and the relevant project will be open automatically.
Project Changes
You receive a Teams notification when one of the following changes is made to a project on which you are listed as the project manager or another Resource type:
- Start or End Date changes
- Project Rank changes
- Project Field changes
When you click Open Project, you will be redirected to the Project Details of the project that has been changed.
