General
You can receive notifications from Meisterplan if you are a project manager, a resource manager, or assigned to another custom resource field on a project. Depending on the notification type (within Meisterplan, via email, in Microsoft Teams), you will be notified of project changes, allocation changes, or comments. You will only receive notifications for project changes, allocation changes, and comments made by other users unless you mention yourself in a comment.
To be able to receive notifications on project and allocation changes, your user account must be linked to your resource in Meisterplan. Learn more in the article Configuring User Accounts.
To receive notifications via email, each user must verify their email address and activate the option for receiving email notifications in their user profile.
Unless their email is already verified, every user can find the verification link below the header bar and in their user profile.
Verification and Single Sign-On
You still need to verify your email address when logging in to Meisterplan using Single Sign-On.
User Rights
To link users with their resources, you need to have the Manage Users and User Groups right.
Every user can configure the types of notifications they want to receive, but they will only receive notifications according to their user rights. For example, if they do not have read rights for a project field, they will not be notified when this project field changes.

Notifications for Project Managers
For a user to receive notifications as a project manager, their resource must be linked to the user account and the resource must be selected in the project manager field of a project. It is not enough to be allocated on a project as a resource with the project manager role in order to receive notifications.
In Meisterplan
In the black header bar in Meisterplan, click the bell icon on the right to open a list with your comment notifications.
A blue dot shows that there are new notifications that you haven't seen yet. The number in the dot lets you know how many new notifications there are. If there are 9 or more notifications, the count is no longer incremented. The dropdown list displays the last 200 notifications or the notifications of the last 90 days, whichever applies first.
You cannot deactivate these notifications. If your organization doesn't use comments, there won't be any notifications in Meisterplan.
The following events will trigger a project manager notification in Meisterplan:
- mentioned in comment
- comment on project
- comment on a project's allocation
You will be notified immediately when there is a new comment.
When you click an entry, you will be redirected to the Project Details of the project that has been commented on.
Via Email
Once you have activated the option to receive email notifications for project changes and comments, you will be notified via email about comments and changes to projects you are assigned to as project manager. When there is a new comment, you will receive the email immediately. For project changes, you will receive either a daily or a weekly summary email, depending on your settings in My Profile.
The following events will trigger an email from Meisterplan:
- mentioned in comment
- new comment on project
- new comment on a project's allocation

- project field changed (incl. project manager field)
- added to or removed from program
- apply from/submit to scenario/Plan of Record
- milestone/milestone dependency added or changed
- financial event added or changed
- allocations added or changed
For each changed project, the email contains a link to the Project Details of the respective project. When you follow this link, the scenario that contains the changes is also automatically opened, even if it is different from the last scenario opened.
To see a detailed list of all project changes, open the project's change log in the Information Panel.
