Learn which portfolio filters you can configure and how they affect each view.
If you are just getting started with Meisterplan, you will find all you need in the Portfolios in Meisterplan - Overview article.
Why Portfolio Filters Are So Useful
With filters, you can configure portfolios in Meisterplan to match the way you work and organize tasks in your company, for example:
- Sub-Portfolios for each business unit
- Sub-Portfolios for everyone in charge
- Appropriate views for individual meetings
This allows everyone to concentrate on what’s important to them.
If you are just getting started with Meisterplan, you will find all you need in the Portfolios in Meisterplan - Overview article.
Project Filters - Details
With the project filters of a portfolio, you determine which projects are part of a selected portfolio and which are not.
For filters with several options, a project is part of a portfolio if at least one of the selected filter options applies.
You can define any number of project filters for each portfolio. A project is part of a portfolio if each of the filters applies.
Additionally Display Projects of Filtered Resources
If you have configured both a project filter and a resource filter, the checkbox Display Projects of Filtered Resources appears below the project filter. When you check the box, the projects that are assigned to the roles and resources that correspond to the portfolio's resource filter are also displayed in the portfolio, in addition to the projects that are displayed as part of the project filter. If a user can edit these projects depends on their respective user rights. Find more details in the article Portfolio Access Rights - Details.
Example: You have set the project filter to show the projects with you as the project manager, and the resource filter to show the people and roles assigned to you as the resource manager. When you then check the box to Display Projects of Filtered Resources, you will then also see all of the projects your people or resources are assigned to even if you are not the project manager.
If you have the Projects with Logged-In User as Project Manager right under Project and Program Rights, you can only edit the projects for which you are the project manager. If you also have the Resource Managers Can Always Edit Allocations of Their Own Roles and Resources right, you can edit the allocations of your resources and roles on their projects.
