The Information Panel for Resources is now available in beta. With the Resource Overview and Resource Change Log, you can centrally track key information and changes related to resources.
Prerequisite
To use these features, beta access must be enabled for your system (by administrators) and in your user profile.
Required User Rights
- To access the Resource Pool and, consequently, the Information Panel with the Resource Overview, your user group must have the Edit Resource Pool and Absences permission under Project and Resource Planning > Resources, Teams, and Roles.
- To access the Change Log, your user group additonally needs the Access Change Log permission under Views & Areas > Change Log.
- To configure the Resource Overview, your user group must have the Types & Configurations (Add Form, Details, Overview (if applicable)) permission under System Administration > System Configuration.
Information Panel for Resources
In the Information Panel, you can find an overview of the selected resource and their change log. You can open the Information Panel for resources from the following views:
Open the Resource Pool from the left-hand sidebar and click the square icon at the end of a resource row to open the Resource Details. Then, in the right-hand sidebar, click the information icon (i) to expand the Information Panel.
Overview
The overview shows additional information for the resource you have selected in your current view.
Your selected portfolio and date range settings in the header (top left) do not affect these values.
Configure the Overview
Configure the resource overview to quickly view basic information about a resource, such as its Primary Role or the responsible Resource Manager.
The configuration of the resource overview always applies to all resources and users.
To configure which information is displayed to users of your Meisterplan system in the resource overview, open the left sidebar, click Manage, and then select Types & Configurations > Resource > Resource Overview:
Alternatively, you can open the overview of a resource in the Information Panel and then click Configure Overview:
Available Fields
The following fields are available for the resource overview:
- All system fields in this list
- All resource fields under Manage > Custom Fields > Resources
You must add at least one field to the configuration in order to save it.
Change Log
Track who made which changes to resource fields and when. This allows you to understand how up to date the stored information for a resource is.
Click the information icon in the right-hand sidebar to expand or collapse the Information Panel with the Change Log as needed.
Which Changes Are Logged?
Manual Changes made to resource data are logged for each resource as follows
- Resource Fields (both system and custom resource fields)
For system fields, all changes made through any of the following methods are also logged:
Which Changes Are Not Logged?
The following changes are not logged:
- Changes to absences
- Changes to cost per hour
- Changes to team memberships
- Changes to allocation values
- Deleting a resource: When you delete a resource, all its change log entries are also deleted.
