This article describes creating and editing Meisterplan user accounts in the Users administration view. It also lists and describes user access levels, general account settings and access rights.

Required Access Level
The Users view is only available to Administrators.
Opening the Users View
The Users view is available under Manage in the sidebar.
User Account List
The Users view displays all Meisterplan user accounts and lets you add, edit or deactivate user accounts.
The view also displays the Last Login Date for each user.
The admin user account will be created by default in each Meisterplan system. This user account is a system account. You cannot change the user name or the access level for this user. You may also not deactivate the admin account.
A user account cannot be deleted once it has been created. If you wish to block access for a user account you have to deactivate it.

|Deactivated||The user may not log in to Meisterplan.|
|Personal plan (only app access)||The user may not log in to Meisterplan.
Starting with this access level, users may log in to the Meisterplan MyProjects Android or iOS app to view their own projects and allocations.
Users cannot edit any data in the apps.
Please note that, in addition to the required minimum access level, a user must be linked to a resource in order to log in to the apps (see following section User Account Settings - General).
|Viewer||The user may not edit any data.|
|User||The user may edit data and manage own scenarios.|
|Portfolio Manager||Like User. Additionally, the user may manage portfolios that he or she created or has access rights for.|
|Data Manager||Like Portfolio Manager. Additionally, the user may use the Resource Pool, import data, export data and manage assigned reports.|
Like Data Manager. Additionally, the user may manage custom project fields, user accounts, all scenarios, all portfolios and all reports. For most license types in Meisterplan SaaS systems he is also able to manage subscriptions.
User Account Settings - General
Click Edit User or double click a row to open the user account settings.
The following settings are available in the General tab.
Used for login into Meisterplan
Used for info messages
Will be converted to lower case when saving the user account; when logging in with this user account, the username doesn't have to be entered in lower case, only the letters need to match.
To enable the user to log in using a Google or Azure (Microsoft Work) account, this must be equal to the e-mail adress used to log in to Google or Azure.
|First Name||Used for documentation (e.g. in reports)|
|Last Name||Used for documentation (e.g. in reports)|
|E-mail recipient for system notifications to this user|
|Linked Resource||Link the user to a resource to enable logging in to the Meisterplan MyProjects Android or iOS app.
When the user logs in to one of the apps, current allocations of the linked resource will be displayed by project in a daily or weekly view, sorted by date. Users cannot edit any data in the apps.
Please note that, in addition to a linked resource, a user requires at least the Personal plan (only app access) access level in order to log in to the apps (see previous section Access Levels).

|Password||Select Password never expiresto disable password expiration for this user account.
This setting is only required if password expiration is active (if expiration in days is greater than zero, see the Edit Password Settings section below).
User Account Settings - Rights
The following settings are available in the Rights tab.
|Portfolio Access Rights||Select accessible portfolios (at least one).|
|Scenario Edit Rights||Select accessible scenarios. Can be empty.|
|Plan of Record Edit Rights||Allow user to edit the plan of record.
This requires the User access level or higher.
|Project Score Sorting Rights for Project List||Allow user to sort the project list by project score.
This controls availability of the Sort by Project Score option in the More Actions menu of the toolbar for the Portfolio Designer view.
Additionally, to use this feature, users need to have at least the User access level and edit rights for the active scenario or plan of record, all of which can also be assigned here.
|Report Rights||Select accessible reports. Can be empty.|
|Field Rights||Select custom fields to display in project hints and in the Edit Project window. Field Rights are also required for filtering by a field and for displaying lookup colors via the Portfolio Designer view Settings for Projects.|
Edit Password Settings
Click the Edit Password Settings button in the toolbar to view and edit password requirements:
- Minimum Number of Characters: at least 6.
- Password Expiration (Days): users will be prompted to enter a new password when their password has expired. Enter 0 to turn off password expiration.
- Requires uppercase letters from A to Z: password must contain at least one uppercase character.
- Requires lowercase letters from a to z: password must contain at least one lowercase character.
- Requires digits of the base 10 (0 to 9): password must contain at least one digit.
- Requires special characters (e.g. !$#%): password must contain at least one special character.
A newly configured password policy becomes valid when a password expires or is next changed by the user or an administrator.
