Learn which user rights are necessary for project managers to update their projects using Microsoft Excel.
Required User Rights
To access the Export to Excel, your user group needs to have following rights:
- Under Integrations, you need to have the Export Data right.
- To update project fields, you need to have at least Read Only rights for the respective project fields.
- To export projects and project data from a specific portfolio, access rights to the portfolio are required.
To access the Quick Import: Projects, the following rights are required:
- Under Integrations, you need to have the Import Data right.
- Under Project & Resource Planning > Edit Projects and Programs, you need to have at least the option Mine.
- Under Project & Resource Planning >Detailed Project and Program Rights, you need to have the Add Projects and Programs right.
- Under Project & Resource Planning > Project Fields, you need to have the Edit right for the Project Key field.
- To import projects into the Plan of Record, you need to have the Edit Plan of Record right; to import them into a scenario, you need to have the edit rights for the respective scenario.
To update additional project data, you may also need the following rights:
- To update project fields, you need to have the Edit right for the respective project fields.
- To import allocations via the list or matrix, you need to have either the right Resource Managers Can Always Edit Allocations of Their Own Resources, Teams and Roles, or under Edit Allocations, at least the option Role Allocations.
- To import milestones, you need to have the Add, Edit, and Delete Milestones and Dependencies right.
- To import financial events, you need to have Add, Edit, and Delete Financial Events right.
