With custom resource fields, you can define which resource information you need to maintain an overview. This allows you to tailor the display to your organization's requirements.

Required User Rights
- To edit a field's contents, your user group needs to have the Edit Resource Pool and Absences right under Project & Resource Planning > Resources, Teams, and Roles.
- To add, edit, or delete resource fields, as well as change resource field values, your user group needs to have the Custom Fields right under System Administration > System Configuration.
Where to Find
In the left sidebar, click Manage > Custom Fields, then select the tab Resources:
The list displays all resource fields in your Meisterplan system in alphabetical order. To display a resource field in a view (e.g., Resource Details or Resource Overview), add it to the configuration of the respective view.
Availability of Custom Fields in Configurations
Once you have set up your custom fields, you can configure them in the following views:
Adding Custom Resource Fields
You can add up to 100 custom resource fields in Meisterplan. Add new custom resource fields by using the Add Resource Field menu:
Select the field type and fill in the following information:
- Name: the resource field name displayed in Meisterplan and in the Excel Export. Maximum number of characters: 2,048 characters.
- API Name: resource field name for data exchange via an API. The column name is automatically prefixed with “cust_” after saving and cannot be edited after saving the field. Maximum number of characters: 58 characters.

Option (only for the types Single-Select and Multi-Select): options that can be chosen from the drop-down menu
- Name: displayed name of the option
- Color (only single-select): here, you can specify which color will be used for the option, like when you use a color scheme in a view.
- Decimal Places (only for the type Number): number of decimal places; you can choose between 0-3 decimal places. This selection cannot be changed after creating the field.
Editing Custom Resource Fields
Once created, you can open and change a custom resource field's attributes by double-clicking its list item or by clicking the pencil icon at the end of the line.
Deleting Custom Resource Fields
To delete a custom resource field, hover over its entry in the list and click the trash can icon:
