Enhanced Milestone CapabilitiesAll Editions

With the latest update to Meisterplan, milestones are now more flexible and informative. Portfolio coordinators can configure fields and filter for them in the Project Details. Custom milestone fields are now also available through the Rest API, allowing milestone data to flow seamlessly between Meisterplan and your other systems. 

System and Custom Milestone Fields

Under Manage > Fields > Milestones, you can view and edit custom milestone fields.

Create custom milestone fields and add them to your project field configuration as needed. Custom milestone fields are also available through the REST API for data exchange with other systems.

Configuring the Project Details and the 'Add & Edit Milestones' Form

Under Manage > Types & Configurations > Project Types, you define which system and custom milestone fields are displayed in the Milestone Table in the Project Details view.

Under Manage > Types & Configurations > Milestone, you can configure which fields are available to users when adding and editing milestones, and which of those fields are required. The configuration of the 'Add & Edit Milestones' form is currently part of our Beta program and is only available to users with Beta access. The configured fields and required fields are currently only applied in the new Portfolio Designer (Beta).

Changes for Existing Systems

With this release, existing milestone configurations will be updated automatically:

• System and custom milestone fields can now be configured under Manage > Fields > Milestones.
• The Hide Past Milestones option in the Milestones section in the Project Details view will no longer be available. Instead, use the new filter in the Milestones section toolbar. This filter allows you to filter milestones by various criteria, such as their date, so you can selectively show or hide past or upcoming milestones.
• Changes to milestones can always be tracked in the respective project's Change Log. With this release, implicit date changes are also recorded, like when milestone dates change as a result of changing a project schedule.

Required User Rights

To configure milestones and their fields, your user group requires the following user rights under System Administration > System Configuration > Add, Edit, and Delete Project-, Program, and Resource-Related Settings:

• To configure the Milestones section in the Project Details and the 'Add & Edit Milestones' Form, the Types & Configurations (Add Form, Details, Overview (if applicable)) right.
• To add, edit, and delete milestone fields, the Custom Fields (Projects, Programs, Risks, Resources, Milestones) right.
