Required User Rights
- All users can view program fields in the Program Details or the Program Overview. To edit the input of a field, they need to have at least the Mine right under Edit Programs.
- To add, edit or delete program fields, as well as change program field values, users need to have the Custom Fields right under System Administration > System Configuration. To display a program field in the program details and the program overview, users need to add it to the configuration of the respective view.
Where to Find
In the left sidebar, click Manage > Custom Fields, then select the tab Program Fields:
The list displays all program fields in your Meisterplan system in alphabetical order. To display a program field in a view (e.g., Program Details or Program Overview), add it to the configuration of the respective view.
Adding Custom Program Fields
You can add up to 100 custom program fields in Meisterplan. Add new custom program fields by using the Add Program Field menu:
Select the field type and fill in the following fields:
- Name: the program field name displayed in Meisterplan and in the Export to Excel. Maximum number of characters: 2,048 characters.
- API Name: program field name for data exchange using via API. The column name is automatically prefixed with “cust_” after saving and cannot be edited after saving the field. Maximum number of characters: 58 characters.

Option (only for the types Single-Select and Multi-Select): options that are available to be chosen in the drop-down menu
- Name: displayed name of the option
- Color (only single-select): here, you can specify which color will be used for the option, like when you use a color scheme in a view.
- Decimal Places (only for the type Number): number of decimal places; you can choose between 0-3 decimal places. This selection cannot be changed after creating the field.
To display the field in each view, add it to the configuration of the respective view (e.g., List).
Editing Custom Program Fields
Once created, you can open and change a custom program field's attributes by double-clicking its list item or by clicking the pencil icon at the end of the line.
Deleting Custom Program Fields
To delete a custom program field, hover over its entry in the list and click the trash can icon. You can delete all program fields except the Status system field.
