Manage API tokens required by developers to communicate with the Meisterplan REST API.
General
You need to have the Access Meisterplan APIs and Connect External Applications right to manage API tokens.
API tokens are secure, digital access keys that allow different software systems to communicate with each other safely. When Meisterplan needs to connect to another tool, or when another tool needs to access Meisterplan, an API token ensures that only authorized people or applications can do so.
API tokens are user-specific. Each token only allows access to data that the user creating the token can access.
Add an API Token
To generate a new API token, follow these steps:
- In the top right corner of Meisterplan, click your profile picture and select My Profile:
- In the toolbar, click Manage Apps and select API Tokens:
- Click Add API Token.
- Enter a Name for the token (optional, but will help you to remember where the token is used):
- Click the Copy to Clipboard icon to copy the API Token and store it in a safe place, as you will no longer be able to view this value after closing the dialog:
- Click Apply.
API Token Limit
You can create a maximum of 25 API tokens. Once you've reached this limit, you need to revoke an API token to add a new one.
Revoke an API Token
To revoke an API token, move your cursor over an item in the list and click on the trash can icon that appears:
