How the Task Connector Can Help You
Connect different task and project management tools with Meisterplan and compare the data directly in Meisterplan.
- See at a glance where a project's effort in the connected tool differs from the allocations in Meisterplan and adjust your plans accordingly.
- Configure views such as the List to display where there are fewer allocations in Meisterplan than in the connected tool so you can adjust your plans accordingly.
- Let your teams work with their preferred tools.
- Your Meisterplan users do not need access to the connected tools to see their data in Meisterplan.
Visualizing Tasks in Meisterplan
In the project details of a connected project, you can see the tasks from the connected tool on a timeline, grouped by sprint or task date. This helps you to stay up to date on what is planned in the connected tool and keep an eye on dependencies. Learn more in the article Project Details - Task Timeline.
Comparing Data on the Project Level
You can find a detailed comparison of allocations and effort in the Information Panel of each connected project. In addition, you can see which tasks have been completed and which are still open. Learn more in the article Comparing External Tool Effort in the Information Panel via the Task Connector.
Comparing Data Across the Portfolio
You can compare your tool's data across all projects by using specific fields, colors or filters in views such as the List or the Portfolio Designer. Find out more about this in the article Comparing External Tool Effort in Different Views via the Task Connector.
How the Task Connector Works
To compare planned effort from external tools with Meisterplan allocations on the project and the portfolio level, you need to connect the project in Meisterplan with the corresponding project in the external tool via the Task API. You can find more details in the article Connecting Your Tools via the Task API.
- Connecting Meisterplan with external tools via the Task Connector will not change data in Meisterplan nor in the external tools.
- Connect each Meisterplan project with the corresponding project in another tool, but only one tool can be connected per project.
- See at a glance which projects in your portfolio are significantly below the effort planned in connected tools.
- You can compare remaining effort from your tool to future allocations in Meisterplan in different views such as the List.
Required User Rights
- To be able to view and use the fields for comparing tool effort, you need to have at least the Use right under Manage > User Groups > Integrations > Task Connector.
- To connect tools and manage the configuration, you need to have the Configure right under
- Manage > User Groups > Integrations > Task Connector.
