We've updated Meisterplan - check out what's new!
Improved Project Scheduling in the Gantt ChartAll Editions
Our improved options for rescheduling projects in the Gantt chart allow project managers and other users to quickly make changes to the schedule when different situations arise such as when a project is delayed or when a project is completed earlier than expected. You'll also immediately see the effects of the rescheduling in the resource section.
In the Portfolio Designer, select a project by clicking. Hover over the project bar in the Gantt chart and click the three dots in the blue circle to open the project context menu:
With this release, the context menus have become more clear and redundant entries have been removed. Below you can find a short summary of new, updated and removed options.
You can find a detailed overview of options per context menu in the Planning Options in the Portfolio Designer article.
New Options
Remove Project Section
Delete any section within a project including milestones and allocations, for example if a project section can be finished earlier. You can find this option both in the project context menu and the milestone context menu (Remove Project Section before Milestone).
Learn more in the Shortening Projects and Allocations article.
Split Allocations at Milestone
Split all project allocations at a milestone to be able to enter different values for each allocation segment.
Updated Options
Shorten
The option for stopping a project at a selected date has been renamed Shorten and can now be found in the project end context menu and in the milestone context menu (Shorten Project at Milestone). Learn more in the Shortening Projects and Allocations article.
Insert Project Break
The option for inserting zero allocations has been renamed Insert Project Break. A project break will now be visualized as a thin line in the Gantt chart:
You can still find this option in the project context menu and the milestone context menu (Insert Project Break after Milestone). Learn more in the Extending Projects and Allocations article.
Removed Option
Split at...
The option for splitting projects in project segments has been removed from all Meisterplan systems, because all use cases are now covered by the new and improved scheduling options such as Insert Project Break.
This also means that it is no longer possible to create project segments and move them independently.
With the release of these options, all projects that were split have been updated to the new functionality and visualization with a thin line.
Group Projects in the Portfolio DesignerProPremium
With the Group Projects feature, you can group projects and programs by OBS in the Portfolio Designer. This enables you to group and see projects in new and different ways, for instance, by department so that you can quickly and easily see all of the active projects for each department.
In the Portfolio Designer's toolbar, click Settings and under Group by, select the OBS for grouping the displayed projects.
