This article explains how to create and edit Jira links. With the Jira Connector, you are able to link Jira instances to Meisterplan. We'll let you know where it may be useful to get help from your organization's Jira expert.
Overview
You need to have the Access Meisterplan APIs and Connect External Applications right to access this view.
To access data from Jira when working in Meisterplan, you must create links to individual Jira instances (cloud or on-premise). These can be managed in the Jira Connector, which you can access by clicking Manage in the left Sidebar and then selecting Jira Connector.
In the Jira Connector, you have the option to add new Jira links, edit the configuration of existing Jira links, or remove them. Simply click on the URL of an instance in order to open it in your browser.
Adding a Jira Link
To add a new Jira link, click on Add Jira Link, enter the URL of the Jira instance (cloud or on-premise), and click Confirm.
If you're unsure about the correct URL, just ask your internal Jira expert.
Tip: If you want to connect a Jira Server instance and are using a Meisterplan Software as a Service (SaaS) system, it is sufficient for your network administrator to only allow access to the static IP addresses used by Meisterplan for communication. You can find more information in the FAQ Connect to Meisterplan via static IP.
Editing a Jira Link
In order to edit the configuration of a previously created Jira link, hold your cursor over a Jira link in the list and click on the pencil icon to the right. Please note: If you change the URL used for a Jira link, the links created between Meisterplan projects and Jira data will only work if the linked Jira data (stories, epics,...) also exist in the new instance.
Deleting a Jira Link
In order to delete a Jira link, hold your cursor over a Jira link in the list and click on the trash can icon to the right. When you delete a Jira link, all links between Meisterplan projects and Jira data created with this Jira link will also be deleted. This includes any project-specific settings. No other data will be deleted in Meisterplan or Jira.
