We've updated Meisterplan - check out what's new!
Flexibly Manage Permissions with User Groups
Now you can set permissions no longer by user group instead of by user. You can flexibly manage permissions and accurately map them to the responsibilities of your organization, instead of being restricted to pre-defined access levels.
Customize Your Groups
Open the Sidebar, click Manage and select User Groups. This is where you can add, configure, duplicate or delete groups.
At release, only Administrators will have access to the user groups, but you can always extend the Manage Users and User Groups right to others.
To ensure that all users can continue working without disruption, a group will be automatically created per user based on their current rights. This will enable you to customize groups to fit your needs whenever it is convenient for you.
Exception: Users with the “Personal Plan (only app access)” level will be given the same rights as the current "Viewers” access level. This means they will have read only access to Meisterplan.
You can find a step-by-step guide on how to efficiently customize your groups in the Replacing Automatically Created User Groups article.
All Changes at a Glance
All changes that are included with the user groups are listed below. A detailed account of all rights can be found in the Manage User Groups article.
Access Levels Have Been Discontinued
The previous access levels have been discontinued because you can now flexibly define user rights per group.
Separate Read and Edit Rights for Project Fields
From now on, you must distinguish whether users in a group have no rights, read only rights or edit rights for project fields. This enables you to make project information accessible to more people without granting them editing rights. Find all details on Project Field Rights here.
Clear Permissions
Clearly grant each user group the rights to add, change or delete allocations, milestones and financial events. Find all details on Detailed Project and Program Rights here.
Separately assign rights for configuring reports, portfolios and scenarios to each group, in addition to the report, portfolio and scenario rights of a single user. Find all details on Administrative Rights here.
You can also clearly give each user group the right to connect other tools and import or export data. Find all details on Integration Rights here.
Hide Deactivated Users
Individual Users are still managed in the left Sidebar under Manager > Users. To keep a clear overview of active and inactive users, you can now hide or show deactivated users as needed.
