Question: Can a resource have multiple roles?
Answer: Adding a resource to a project will always assign the resource's primary role as project role.
However, you can change the resource's project role:
- Right-click the project list item for the resource to open the associated context menu.
- Select the Change Project Role option.
- Select the desired project role.
Once you have changed the resource's project role, it will be available for selection to add to the same project in its primary role once more. This way, you can add the same resource to the same project in multiple roles by repeating the steps listed above.
Meisterplan will always consider a resource's primary role for aggregation by role and remaining role capacity calculation: If you allocate a resource with the primary role "Developer - Senior" as "Project Manager" with 1.0 FTE for one week, this allocation will still be displayed under the aggregated role role for the "Developer - Senior" role. Also, the total capacity of this role will be 1.0 FTE less in that week. The allocations and total capacity of the "Project Manager" role won't change, because the role change has no effect on the number of available project managers.
