Question: Why does the auto-schedule feature not solve all over-allocations?
Answer: This can have different causes:
- A resource is over-allocated, which might not be visible due to your current aggregation settings selected under Resources and Roles in the Settings for the Portfolio Designer view. You can use the None aggregation setting and the over-allocation filter to quickly identify the resource in question.
- Depending on your zoom level selected for the Portfolio Designer view, the auto-schedule feature may not be able to solve all over-allocations. This is because auto-scheduling will move projects by month with the Quarter zoom level or by week with either of the Month or Week zoom levels. It will also redistribute allocations by month or by week, depending on your zoom level.
